Winter Activity

During winter time, Engadine valley transforms itself into a magical landscape, not so different from the one of Santa Claus village, where you can try the enchanting experience of a sleigh trip. An ideal valley for those who love cross-country skiing, thanks to its smooth morphology. Downhill skiers can count on 350 km of perfectly prepared ski runs, across the four ski areas of the valley:

• Corvatsch, at 3303 mt height
• Corviglia/Piz Nair, elegant and fashionable at about 3000 mt height
• Diavolezza, at the feet of Bernina glacier
• Pizzet, cosy and sunny

Some people may say this is the valley of dreams where all the beauties and attractions of the Alps and Switzerland gather in one single place. In Samedan, during winter, children may try their first attempt on skis, snowboards or sleds in the area above the town reachable easily by a ski lift. Samedan also has a good network of railway and road connections to the other ski areas of the region that can be reached fast and easily. From the Corviglia-Marguns ski area there’s a downhill that leads you back directly to Samedan.

Those who want wider and equipped runs for cross-country skiing will find it an ideal scenario while those who love trekking will find an ideal place where they can practice their favourite activity on beaten tracks.
The winter range of entertainment is completed by the possibility of excursions with skiing sticks, ice skating rink, hockey, curling, and a 4.2 km sled run on the Muottas Muragl.
