You can reach the Engadin by car comfortably and safely from Switzerland, Italy, Germany or Austria:
Zurich - St. Moritz - 200 km - 3 hours
Milan - St. Moritz - 175 km - 3 hours
Munich - St. Moritz - 300 km - 4 hours
Basel - St. Moritz - 250 km - 4 hours
If snow has fallen, crossing the passes is only permitted with snow chains or in 4x4 vehicles.
Whether you drive via Chur–Thusis–Tiefencastel or over the Julier Pass or the Albula Pass (open during the summer months only), you will always enjoy a spectacular view.
If you want to avoid driving over the mountain passes, you have the following possibilities to transport your car by rail:
Thusis - Samedan - (your car is loaded onto the car train, while you travel in a passenger train)
Klosters/Selfranga - Sagliains in the Lower Engadin (you remain in your car on the car train)

The trip with the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) from Chur to Tiefencastel to the Engadin, with its helical tunnels and breathtakingly high viaducts, is one of the most scenic and technically interesting in Europe.
Another option is to travel from Landquart via Klosters and the Vereina Tunnel. This way you can reach the St. Moritz region from Zurich Main Railway Station in just 3 hours and 21 minutes.
At the beginning of July 2008, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee named the “Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina landscapes” as a World Heritage Site. The RhB is only the third railway in the world to be deemed by UNESCO as “universally outstanding”.
Unbeatable views from a seat on an observation car of the Albula Line.
